T O P I C R E V I E WAmi AnneThere is no coming to consciousness without pain. People will do anything, no matter how absurd, to avoid facing their own soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. Check Me Out, DUDE. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/ikjaI agree with this post/quote.I only now understand what it means having gone through the last year, losing my dad to aphasia (condition experienced after stroke). His illness triggered the feeling of abandonment within me, and often, when I was alone with myself... I started to think about all of the times that I had been abandoned by people who were close me. Travelling down memory lane forced me to confront issues and demons that I had brushed under the carpet for so long. I also took some opportunities to discuss this with some of the people that had abandoned me, explaining to them perhaps why their actions made me so angry/sad and in the exchange that followed... I understood. I now have a better understanding of myself, and if it wasn't for becoming conscious during a very dark time... I do not think that I would be in a position to 1. give advice to others today 2. overcome some past hurt and 3. go forward with a better knowledge of my 'triggers' and my own behaviour. It's definitely easier for me to communicate what I want in relationships/friendships and I had to travel through the dark and claw through layers of pain to get to this place.Ami AnneThank you, I! ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology?
